How does it work?

Whether you are a small home builder or one of the largest commercial builders in the US, we all fundamentally face the same problems. Define the scope of work, bid out the job, ensure coverage of every part in the contracting phase, and fight the change orders. Bold Estimation would love to help you at every part of that process.

Define The Scope of Work

We provide both budgetary and detailed takeoffs. Most GC’s have their own internal metrics for how they price out a job. Some price by utilizing typical sqft numbers. Others will get detailed takeoffs and spend the time to price it with extreme accuracy. What makes sense depends on a multitude of factors. Have you won the job yet? How far into the design phase is the developer/owner?
Do you have reliable subcontractors with bids that you can trust? We don’t want to reinvent the wheel. Whatever your process may be, we want to join your team as a resource to grind out more projects. We adapt entirely to your system. We provide consulting advice as we go- we aren’t just robots. Yet, we know that you probably have it mostly figured out and just need help executing.

Bid Out The Job

We provide admin support to help you bid out a job. That might include cleaning up your contact sheets so that you are communicating properly with all of your subcontractors. Maybe you need more bidders in particular scopes and want us to find qualified subcontractors for you.
We can provide prequalification services to vet them. We pull their bids together into a spreadsheet and check exclusions/coverage for the project. We try to take it as far as possible and then hand it off to your team. This might include a fairly lengthy meeting walking through every part of the job to make sure that we all have confidence in what is in front of us.

Fight the Change Orders

For starters, we will follow a project from a simple 50% design set all the way to construction documents. We handle changes in scope along the way. Regardless of how well your precon team does, there will always be a change order. We can help verify the validity of those change orders and quantify what is being done so that you can fight them with confidence.
